At Hydrangea Lane Learning, Kindergarten Readiness focuses on building the foundational skills children need to thrive as they prepare to enter school.
I utilize the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum to teach beginning letter writing and name writing, helping children gain confidence in early literacy and fine motor development.
My lessons nurture letter recognition, number recognition, phonemic awareness, phonics, sight words, patterning, number sense, early problem-solving, fine motor skills, social development, listening and following directions, and independence through engaging, hands-on activities.
The program is designed to spark a love of learning and provide a smooth, confident transition into kindergarten.

My Reading and Writing program develops strong literacy foundations through phonics, sight words, spelling, vocabulary, and comprehension practice.
Students also learn to express themselves through writing activities that build confidence and creativity, including grammar practice, sentence writing, and beginning paragraph development.
Whether your child is just beginning to read or needs support with main idea, cause and effect, and other comprehension skills, I am here to help. By strengthening both reading fluency and written communication, children become confident learners who enjoy engaging with literature.

Mathematics instruction at Hydrangea Lane Learning supports children in mastering both foundational and advanced elementary skills.
I design lessons around each child’s current needs and level of understanding, ensuring that concepts truly “click.” Instruction may cover addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, double-digit addition and subtraction, fractions, telling time, double-digit multiplication, double-digit division, or more.
With a strong knowledge of Alabama curriculum standards, I incorporate students’ school textbooks and transform the concepts into engaging, hands-on lessons that make learning meaningful.
My goal is to build math confidence and critical thinking skills that will support lasting academic success.

In my Homework Help sessions, I guide children through their daily assignments while reinforcing what they are learning in the classroom. Along the way, I teach valuable skills such as organization, study strategies, responsibility, and independence.
Support is personalized to meet each child’s needs, whether that means working through math practice, reading comprehension, spelling words, writing responses, or preparing for upcoming tests and projects. By creating a structured yet encouraging environment, I help children not only complete their homework but also truly understand the concepts behind it.
This approach helps students stay on track academically, reduce homework stress at home, and build both confidence and independence. Over time, they develop positive lifelong study habits that will benefit them well beyond elementary school.
